So first, we need our ingredients.
Butterbeer Ingredients |
- Smucker's Butterscotch Topping (by ice cream toppings in the supermarket or buy it here on Amazon)
- Heavy Whipping Cream (I prefer the can over the carton)
- Imitation Vanilla, Butter, Nut Extract (Butterscotch basically, buy this at your local grocery store)
- Cream Soda (Spend the extra money on A&W or one of the old timey glass bottle cream sodas for best results)
- Bowl
- Spoon
- Ministry of Magic mug (or whatever lame mug you probably have instead)
First we will make the whipped butterscotch topping.
Step 1: Go crazy spraying the heavy whipping cream into the bowl. Don't worry, this is enough for about three cups of Butterbeer.
Bowl a' cream |
Step 2: Whip the cream by mixing it with the spoon until the picture above looks like the picture below.
Whip it, whip it good. |
This ain't no health tonic. |
Step 4:Mix.
Crem de la crem a la Butterscotch |
The Half Blood Prince's Secret butterscotch supplement with code-name |
Note: Add one drop at a time, then mix and taste before adding more |
Step 6: Add 1-3 drops of the butterscotch extract to your mug or cup of choice that is probably not as
wicked brilliant as mine.
Step 7: Pour in the cream soda. Pour fairly quickly so the extract mixes thoroughly with the soda.
Note: Again, this will turn out much more like the real WWoHP Butterbeer if you use the "old timey" style of cream soda in the glass bottles that are made with real cane sugar.
Step 8: Spoon 1-3 scoops of your previously made butterscotch whipped cream topping onto the drink.
Again, not a health tonic |
And finally, enjoy your homemade Butterbeer....
...you filthy little Mudblood.
For a healthier alternative, try this, Zevia Cream soda which is naturally sweetened with stevia and has zero calories. Although it is cheaper per can to buy the 24 pack here.
